It would not generally include internet written communication which tends to be asynchronous (not same time \u2013 can read and respond later if at all) and does not fit the &#8216;con&#8217;=&#8217;with&#8217; in &#8216;conversation&#8217;. In face to face conversation it has been suggested that 85% of the communication is non-verbal\/body language \u2013 a smile, a frown, a shrug, tone of voice conveying much added meaning to the mere words. Short forms of written communication such as SMS are thus frequently misunderstood.<\/p>\n<p>No generally accepted definition of conversation exists, beyond the fact that a conversation involves at least two people talking together.\u00a0<sup id=\"cite_ref-FOOTNOTEWarren20068_1-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>Consequently, the term is often defined by what it is not. A ritualized exchange such as a mutual\u00a0<a title=\"Greeting\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Greeting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">greeting<\/a>\u00a0is not a conversation, and an interaction that includes a marked status differential (such as a boss giving orders) is also not a conversation.<sup id=\"cite_ref-FOOTNOTEWarren20068\u20139_2-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>\u00a0An interaction with a tightly focused topic or purpose is also generally not considered a conversation.<sup id=\"cite_ref-FOOTNOTEWarren20069_3-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>\u00a0Summarizing these properties, one authority writes that &#8220;Conversation is the kind of speech that happens informally, symmetrically, and for the purposes of establishing and maintaining social ties.<\/p>\n<p>Many conversations can be divided into four categories according to their major subject content:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/smartcoco.online\/en\/smart-methodology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>\u00a0Smart methodology<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Subjective ideas<\/b>, which often serve to extend understanding and awareness.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Objective facts<\/b>, which may serve to consolidate a widely held view.<\/li>\n<li><b>Other people<\/b>\u00a0(usually absent), which may be either\u00a0<a title=\"Criticism\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Criticism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">critical<\/a>, competitive, or supportive. This includes\u00a0<a title=\"Gossip\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gossip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gossip<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Oneself<\/b>, which sometimes indicate\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Attention-seeking\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Attention-seeking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attention-seeking<\/a> behavior or can provide relevant information about oneself to participants in the conversation.<\/li>\n<li>definitely <b>Conversation<\/b>\u00a0is interactive\u00a0<a title=\"Communication\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Communication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">communication<\/a>\u00a0between two or more people. The development of conversational skills and\u00a0<a title=\"Etiquette\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Etiquette\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">etiquette<\/a>\u00a0is an important part of socialization.
